Improv 1: One Art Elizabeth Bishop

I’ve left my mind to the lost and the few
The vast empty and beige, eggshell
Those few who lose
And always a forgotten shoe
Displayed keys, brass, no gold frills
Never to hold the whatsoever new
Tarnised black, a rustic hell
I’ve left my mind to the lost and few.

Improv 2: Two Lorries Seamus Heaney

Twelve trucks full of coal, plentiful potential cinder
Freights traveling as trains wordlessly
Between dividers, spikes gracefully
removed. A plentiful mess of coal
derailed from ten trucks, unfurled as cinder,
Two effectively prevail, stilly freighting
two tar stained trucks, plenty full of coal
potential cinder.
